Christopher Lee Plaque

The plaque welcoming Christopher Lee as an Honorary Member of the 501st Legion.

Below are photos of the Intelligence Report from the Garrison to Mr. Lee aka Darth Tyranus or Count Dooku. This format was chosen because Mr. Lee was an intelligence officer during the war, and we felt he would appreciate this personal touch as a nod to his service.
This presentation has been a LONG time in the making. Once the plaque was received, I was advised that Mr. Lee would not be available to receive it for some time, as he was to be filming on various films at secret locations. I maintained constant communication with Mr. Lee's nephew and webmaster (Juan) of his official site www.christopherleeweb.com.

The extra time was used to develop a nice military look and feel for the presentation, and in the end, appears to have been very well received by Mr. Lee. In his last email to me, Juan said that Mr. Lee was happy to receive the plaque, and that he would send photos and a video of him receiving the award. At this time we await the receipt of these photos and video. When they are received, they will be posted here. A special thanks to Luke, TD-1009, who made the presentation concept idea a reality and who paid to ship the plaque and presentation to Mr. Lee.

Here is a copy of the letter we sent in the report. Below the image is the text of the letter.

Field Intelligence Report #1138

Date: 15 - November – 2005
Agents: Members of Garrison Tyranus, 501st Stormtrooper Legion
Summary: Honorary 501st Membership
Case Status: Pending

Mr. Lee,

Recent intelligence reports gathered from Troopers in our ranks indicated that you had not been tapped as an honorary member of the 501st Stormtrooper Legion. Further encrypted information was uncovered by our embedded spies, and smuggled out at a high cost. It detailed a series of protocols to be followed in order to present a plaque of recognition to a new member for his or her contribution to the Star Wars Saga. Our field units immediately set about to make that a reality. A plaque was requisitioned from HQ and secured in your name, and finally was delivered to us for presentation. It is with great pleasure that Garrison Tyranus presents this plaque to you for enriching the Star Wars universe.

Please find, packaged with this missive, one such plaque to welcome you into the 501st Legion. Not only does the name of our Garrison tie in with Star Wars through your character, Darth Tyranus, but the seal on the Virginia state flag bears the phrase: “Sic Semper Tyrannis” or “Thus Always to Tyrants”. It was a natural name for our state Garrison.

We hope that you will receive this award as a humble thank you for your screen presence, not only in the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings films of recent, but for the amazing body of work your career has produced.

Sincerely,

Ward Jones, CO – Garrison Tyranus

Paul Seward, XO – Garrison Tyranus
